I have three of these shirts from one year to over three years old. They are great, my favorite feature being the quality of the cotton - so soft and comfortable. This summer I vacationed in Maine for the first time and made the pilgrimage to the flagship store where I bought two more new shirts. What a disappointment! What happened to the quality cotton material? After the first wash, both shirts were not very soft and positively itchy in comparison to my old shirts. Have they cheaped out on the cotton quality? Disappointing at the premium price. Used to be five stars. Would no longer recommend at the price. Too bad.
Although advertised as "traditional" fit and style, this seems to be a tapered fit. I ordered two and returned both for the same reasons, so it was not just a random mismarked size. The wrists seem small and too tight for the size (15.5 / 33) and the chest was tight suggesting it was a tapered style.
Have bought this shirt before and loved it. This time the cloth is wimpy, the color is not the same great blue that we had in previous shirts and it came out of the dryer quite wrinkled. I have to iron it! Would not recommend or buy it again.
This is my second negative review of the pinpoint oxford shirt. The material keeps getting thinner. Two years ago, the shirts were great. I still have two of them and they have performed beautifully. Six months ago the material was thinner, but still OK. Now the material in my last purchase and in this one is just too thin. I kept the last one, but this one is going back. Please, LL Bean, don't let the quality of your products deteriorate. I have depended on you for almost all of my clothing purchases for many years. Don't make me go elsewhere.
