Skip this shirt and buy the regular, non pinpoint, wrinkle resistant Oxford. I bought this in white and it has frayed terribly -- anywhere there is a crease is especially weak in the fabric. Not sure why this shirt is $49 and not as good as the $39 regular Oxford. The only item I've ever ordered from L.L. Bean that wasn't top notch.
Everything about this shirt is perfect, and that is saying something for me. The construction is top notch, the fabric exceptional, and the time trusted style is spot on. This shirt is everything it should be and nothing it should not be. The wrinkle resistance is such a convenience eliminating so much that would be a hassle, making this shirt well worth the money. Women that iron are in short supply these days, therefore the wrinkle resistance is important. One would be hard pressed (no pun intended) to justify the ten dollar cheaper oxford cloth shirt when this one looks twenty-five dollars better each time you put it on. It is a perfect shirt for me to wear to church with a tie, or without one if i choose to leave it off. Here in the deep south one learns to appreciate natural fabrics, polyester is fine in winter, but uncomfortably hot to unbearable in summer heat. One hundred percent cotton and wrinkle free, with the cut, style and construction this shirt offers is worth every penny.
I purchased this shirt for my son who was a first year attorney. He was putting in long hours, meeting clients, going to court and totally consumed at the office. The last thing he needed was to second guess his appearance and have to take time to run to the drycleaner (as well as the cost to get a shirt clean/starched). He loves the shirt because it is always crisp, clean, and ready to go after removing it from the dryer. It never looks worn after many washings and there are no "pills" or pulls in the fabric. I know it's a great gift I can count on for years to come.
Bought five - like them all. The fit is great, I like the material - it is lighter weight than the material at the high end stores, but, it also costs 30% less. The construction looks sturdy, came out of the wash and ironed up nicely with very little effort. My only "complaint" is that I think the shirt might be more fairly priced for $5 less.
