Just got this shirt and wore it for the first time the other day. It fit perfectly and I'm a pretty standard 15.5/33" size. I got the Hickory color and it combines green, blue, brownish red, and tan tattersall in a combination that could go with anything, very nice collar, too, not too big and not too small. The whole shirt is just right. Can't say how it will wash or wear over the long haul; but OK for now.
I have purchased a lot of clothes from LL Bean over the years and this is the first item that has disappointed me. The shirt looks, fits, feels and launders great but did not last as long as I would have expeced from LL Bean. It developed weaknesses and tears along the pressed seams on the sleeves after about a year. Sorry LL Bean. I still love you though.
The L.L. Bean Wrinkle-Resistant Pinpoint Oxford Classic Stripe shirt is without exception the finest shirt I have ever owned. I saw one identical to it at a very renowned department store for more than $100, but the L.L. Bean shirt is of superior quality. The Chestnut striped shirt has a rich, deep color to it. Very vibrant. It stands in start contrast with the L.L. Bean University Stripe shirt, which is also well-made, but the colors are very washed out. As a result, I returned them. L.L. Bean really 'got it right' this time around with their Classic Stripe line. It does not require ironing; it looks perfect right out of the dryer. It is first rate product and well-worth the extra cost! I'm a very fussy shopper and I highly recommend this product.
