My husband asked for one of these shirts for Christmas several years ago, and it immediately became his favorite. He has gotten several more since then, and they are in his weekly rotation. They always look good coming out of the dryer (we never iron them), and even the oldest one hasn't faded or begun to look worn. I'm now in the proces of buying another of these shirts -- this time for my brother-in-law! We would love if L.L. Bean would add some additional patterns / colors of this style shirt, as I know my husband would love more of them.
My first purchase ever from LL Bean was this pinpoint oxford just a couple of months ago. I purchased it based upon the positive review of a well-known consumer-product magazine along with the many positive reviews on this website. In fact, I was so pleased with the shirt that I have purchased 3 more pinpoint's along with several other products. LL Bean has found a way to combine comfort and "wrinkle-resistance" better than any other manufacturer. I plan on replacing all of my dress shirts with these.
I have been buying LL Bean dress shirts for 30 years. I recently replenished my supply with several new pinpoint oxfords. The quality and fit remains superb. The price is much less than very similar shirts at the local high-end clothing store. However, the neck size seems a little generous. I will order a 16 instead of a 161/2 next time. (A 161/2 neck in my other dress shirts, both LL Bean plain oxford and another brand still fit fine.)
These used to be my favorite dress shirts. Good quality, good price. I just ordered three white shirts in late October. There was a back order until November 5th. The shirts finally came and were not the same quality as the ones I already own. The pinpoint cotton was somewhere between pinpoint and oxford texture and the wrinkle resistance was not as good.
