I just returned my second one of these shirts due to slit holes forming in the collar. My husband does not have this problem with any other shirt brands.
I've been wearing this shirt for at least 15 years. Coming back over and over to buy more of the same thing. In my opinion, this was the best shirt that money could buy.
But something has changed. The most recent shirt is only a fraction of the thickness and weight of the shirts I have bought in the past. I read the other reviews complaining about wear problems. Based on my first wearing of this shirt, I have to say this is almost certainly going to be a problem.
I'm very disappointed and will be looking elsewhere for my dress shirts in the future.
Fit and styling are great, however the fabric starts to unravel starting with the cuff edges, then the collar edges. A sharp looking shirt becomes tattered and definitely not sharp looking. Not nearly the durability of their other shirts.
I somewhat reluctantly sat down to order more of these shirts to replace several that wore out way more quickly than they should have. Thought I'd look at the reviews to see if anyone else has the same issues, and obviously they do. You might ask why I would order more of an item that I am not satisfied with. It's simple, department store shirts are worse, and these Bean shirts used to be great. Come on L. L., please go back to the way things used to be. I know this isn't a message board, but can anyone recommend a better alternative at a similar price? All of the shirts I ordered a little over a year ago have fallen apart at the same time. I'm still a Bean guy, but these shirts are a disappointment.
