Disappointed in the quality of the cotton rope hammock.Both initial hammock and replacement we're unacceptable . Both over stretched despite hanging them very tight..

Too stretchy

I bought this hammock and the stand in the fall as a gift for my daughter and her family. It just came out to be used for this summer. It is great quality but you really can't use it without hitting the ground. My 4 year old granddaughter hits the ground. I would say it's not useful unless you are hanging to trees and I should have bought a cheap one at the local big box store. Very disappointed!
This is the third hammock that I have purchased from LL Bean. The first two were of good quality and lasted a long time. This one is very flimsy and of poor quality. It is necessary to hang the hammock up high as it stretches a lot when a child or adult sits in it.
When we put this new hammock on the stand, we were surprised that we had to hang it on the very first ring just to get it at all taught. When I laid in the hammock, I sunk almost literally to the ground. The ropes are thin and the knots are visibly loose. This is a far cry from the hammocks that my family used over the years from ll bean. This hammock is made in China and of very poor quality. Really disappointed in this purchase and also the inconvenience of paying to return a huge package! LL bean please work on improving this product.
