Last summer we bought this hammock. While very comfortable and roomy, the quality and workmanship is very poor. Unusual for an LL Bean item. It began to unravel almost immediately. Many ends were left raw. We repaired it ourselves, but probably should have returned it. Honestly, I was afraid to order another one.
I just replaced our original LL Bean 2-person cotton rope hammock after 20 years of summer use. The newer hammock quality is not remotely comparable to what we had. The rope is thinner, cheaper and stretches WAY TOO MUCH. It stretches so much it is basically unusable unless we were to mount it 4 feet off the ground and use a ladder to climb up into it.
When I received my cotton hammock, I was so excited! My husband hung it up in the back yard between two trees. I have spent many hours on that hammock, napping, listening to music on the ipod, and enjoying the sound of the birds singing in my yard! I love love love this hammock! It's sturdy, good looking, and well made! I had zero concerns once I saw the hammock in person that it would be durable! I recommend this hammock to anyone looking to relax in a very comfortable way!!!!!
