the large suggests it fits, and product experts even suggest it will stretch over time, but we needed the x-large for our old ll bean stand (the mice got to our old hammock). It is very unclear on line that the x large is available. I could return the too small one b/c I am a card holder, but it is expensive for others to return items. They were GREAT on customer service, as usual, but they need to clarify sizing and make the x-large option available for older stands. I will give a five start rating to our new x large hammock.
I purchased one of these hammocks 20 years ago and we loved it. My husband and children spent many hours enjoying, but alas time took its toll. The kids are grown and wanted to buy a new one for Dad for Father's day. After reading the reviews I almost did not purchase, but went ahead and ordered it. We love it. Yes it stretches, but has to be adjusted during the break-in period. Love it, Love it!
I had owned a cotton hammock from LL Bean previously. It was made by Hatteras Hammock. My recent replacement was imported and the quality was a disappointment. The ropes were thinner and hard and uncomfortable and it took two people and a wedge to fit the hammock to my LL Beam hammock stand.
We've had other hammocks and would never go back. LL Bean makes the best, and of course it's no-risk with Bean...don't like it for any reason, back it goes with no hassle whatsoever. Great product, great company!
