Based on the reviews, I went a size up. They were still a tad snug in the waist and thights- but lets face it they were soooo warm. My only complaint would be that it had an elastic or adjustable waistband.
I use these as overpants. The larger waist and smaller hips fit me (95 lbs, 5'3") perfectly in the petite small. I've used them for winter birdwatching in the field as well as for outdoor chores in sub 20 degree weather. An excellent product, worth every penny!
I have worn these pants for years of downhill skiing...including in Europe. They are well insulated for the winter season. I adjust for extreme temperatures and wind by wearing proper thermals. In the spring, I wear the uninsulated version of this pant. I ski several days a week, and these pants have held up well. When I gained weight, and Bean was out of my size, I tried other gear...for the money, these can't be beat. I ordered earlier this year!
I have a difficult time finding ski pants that are affordable and comfortable, as well as waterproof and breathable material. These pants are great - the insulation is lightweight but warm enough for downhill skiing. The snow gaiters and bottoms fit over my ski boots. I ordered a medium and they are slightly big in the waist and in the thigh, so I put on a belt. It would be nice if there were adjustment tabs on the waist like other ski pants. But other than that, a great pair of pants that perform well on the slopes and keep me warm and dry!
