Like many of the other reviews, I found the fit of these pants to be very strange. I wear size 8-10 pants and jeans, so I ordered a medium. While the back across my behind was quite snug, the waist was way too big, gapping open in the back. They feel like they would be so warm and comfy, but I don't think I could sit down on the ski lift, so I had to return them.
Just be careful when getting a size. I based mine upon their size chart but when I got the pair of snow pants they were too small. The length was perfect but they were snug and I wasn't able to do them up.
This is my first LL Bean product that I have not been incredibly happy with. Let me first give you the positives: -The insulated pants will keep you warm -You will stay dry in these pants With those two positives in mind, I can say these pants are perfectly functional and do exactly the job they are supposed to do. The following are my issues with the product LL Bean created. -The stomach/butt part of the pant is very tight, while the legs and waist are really large. I have an hour glass shape and don't have this odd fitting problem, so I was really surprised. -Due to the tightness in my midsection, the pockets were at the exact place that if I unzipped them, they bulged out in a completely unflattering way. Plus, I had trouble fitting anything in them. -I would have loved a cargo pocket on the leg, like my husband's Columbia snow pants. -I'm not very tall, yet the pants appeared short on me, which was awkward looking. Basically, if I didn't NEED these pants for a ski trip and if I had actually given myself some lead-time in purchasing them, I would have returned these and kept searching for a more comfortable and flattering pair of snow pants. If you want utilitarian snow pants, these work.
