I ordered this sign for my father, who was the first Caucasian child born in Pt. Barrow, Alaska. I requested very specific latitude and longitude data be used, to differeniate between Barrow and Pt. Barrow, and was very pleased to get exactly what I wanted! The sign even has directions on the back to weatherproof the sign for outdoor use. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants something unique, special and personalized for friends or family. Now I want to order one for myself for the rural mountain town of Hayfork, CA, where I now live.
I recieved one of these signs from my girlfriend for christmas and I loved it! The weathered look is great. It fits right in with my southern adirondack mt. home. I checked the cords and they are right on. Great job LL Bean!
Gave this to my in-laws who winter in FL, and they just love it...a subtle reminder of the winter they left behind in the chilly, snowy Midwest. My father in law actually looked up their longitude and latitude - he thought it was so cool that LLBean knew the exact location!?!? Nice antiqued look with a very nice font used to write out Chicago, Illinois. Great gift for those with a second home.
I gave two of these as gifts and they were a big hit. The signs looked great and those I gave it too were impressed with the personalization. If I had known that they would have been liked so much I would have ordered them for others as well. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been weatherproof so that it could have hung outside.
