I was looking for a name plate sign to give to my husband for Christimas to put on the new garage. I was thrilled when this popped up on my search. I thought this was a neat way to recognize my husbands childhood hometown in Virginia to help him feel closer to home while living here in Maine. My only issue is that it looked like the manufacture of the sign was a little rushed when the final coat of paint was being applied. There were bits a pieces of fines that were sticking in the top layer of the paint and I'm afraid that if I try to 'clean it up' it will ruin the paint job. Maybe if I hadn't ordered the sign during the holiday season the quality might have been a bit better.

My daughter and son-in-law have just about everything, so what do you get two grown-ups for Christmas? A sign with the name of the town where they were born ! My daughter was born on an Air Force Base, and we moved when she was 8 weeks old, so I wanted to remind her of where she came from, and how far she has come since then. My son-in-law was born in a very small town, so he needs to remember to keep that place in his heart. Thank you, L.L.Bean, for finding just the right gift for my hard-to-shop-fors!
Bought this with the name of the college town where my daughter went to college. She has it hanging above her diploma. Wish the quality was a little nicer but from a distance it looks better. Recommend it. She gets many compliments on it !!
My husband is in the Coast Guard so for Christmas last year, I decided to get him one for everyplace he's been stationed, starting with his hometown. He thought they were very cool and then hung them up. Whenever we have anyone over to visit they always comment on them and ask where to get them! We are due to transfer next year and I wish I knew where we were going so that I could get him a new one this year for Christmas! Really hope LL Bean continues to carry them. I plan on getting a nice collection!
