This is long enough and wide enough that the kids come in, shake off the snow *inside* the front door and stand their boots on it. Everything stays dry! No wet foot prints! The cats love it and scratch at it - looks as new and lovely as the day it came. Vacuums out easily and looks regal in the discontinued crimson color - bring it back! I'm wanting a matching runner for the porch, where the new composite material gets icy.
I have two of these. The first one I bought 8 years ago for my back porch. The AZ sun and heat really beat up on this rug, along with four kids and dogs. This rug has taken a beating and has stood up to its reputation for quality. I liked it so much I got one for my laundry room and I love it as well. I will purchase a new outdoor one when I move again. Going to leave the old one with the house.
Just had our 8th & 9th Waterhog items delivered to our door! Gradually switching out all our mats, inside and out, for these much superior ones. Living in the Canadian Prairies, we bought the first two in 1997 to protect our new hardwood. They are still in excellent condition after 16 years of wet, snowy and muddy shoes … to say nothing of wet. snowy and muddy dogs! They look great and do exactly what they promise to do. They also stay in place without fail, unlike any other mats we have found.
I ordered this in the khaki knowing it was a "dark" khaki based on reviews. husband agrees that it looks really nice and even a bit beachy in our beach condo entryway and does an exceptional job at minimizing sand, etc. from getting any further into the place. It stays put very well on the ceramic tile. I was concerned that it would be stiff and scratchy on bare feet and that cat hair would cling to it. It is surprisingly soft and it appears it's the only thing that cat hair doesn't cling to in our place and it is easy to clean. I will probably buy different sizes for other areas once we remodel. As a longtime LL Bean shopper, this is one of the best purchases yet!
