I bought the crescent doormat in 2004 while we lived in Germany...put it in the entryway to help trap the water, snow and mud from two kindergartners that couldn't get the hang of wiping their feet. Awesome! This mat moved with us to Louisiana in 2008...awsome through hurricanes, floods, ice, and some snow! It's now at our home in Northern Wisconsin on the front porch catching snow in the winter and mud in the spring and fall from two teenagers that still haven't learned to wipe their feet! Now looking at purchasing the car mats and a door mat to put in front of the refrigerator to catch the drips from the water/icemaker.
I purchased this doormat over a year ago, and it truly performs the way it is advertised! We have a barn, animals, and lots of mud and snow during the various seasons. The rug has, thus far, NOT faded, NOT shown signs of typical wear like piling, and NOT curled at the edges. When washed with a scrubbrush and hose, it looks new again! Spend the extra cash to get a product that will last!
Purchased many years ago and it still looks like new. I have it on the inside, at the entrance to an elegant room, and it looks great there. I am a pretty demanding shopper, insisting upon quality, pvalue and good looks - which makes LLBean one of my favorite places to shop.
I ordered the Khaki and thought it would be a lighter brown, especially since this mat was offered in the color brown. It's still technically a khaki tone, but more medium/dark brown than tan like the picture. It still matches with my kitchen so I'm keeping it, but be aware when ordering yours.
