Our dog loves to drink water and then let quite a bit drip out the sides of her mouth like a moose! We used to keep a towel under the dog bowls, but that didn't look or work that well. We had a waterhog mat for the front door that we love and so bought this placemat for the dog. Wow! It really works for our sloppy drinker! Plus it looks great! Would heartedly recommend it for other sloppy drinkers!
my pup often has muddy feet, so the floor by his dish was always darker than the rest. I got the non-personalized version (he hasn't learned to read his name yet), he stands on one circle, the food spills onto the other. I recently hosed off the mat, even the old yogurt came off quickly and the mat dried in no time. Definitely recommend.
We have been using regular table place mats to put the dog bowls on. They move around and water spill. With the LL Bean waterhog place mat the bowl dosen't move and the mat stays in place.
