I was very excited to receive this mat as a gift for Christmas for my two cats. Unfortunately, there is some scent in the product that my cat does not like. Granted, it is a Siamese, and they do tend to have a screw loose. However, after testing out my theory twice, it is clear - this scent of this mat sends my cat directly into madness. A 9 pound ball of love became practically feral within two minutes of smelling this. With this in mind, I will be returning this item. The quality seems to be excellent, it looks lovely, and I in no way fault LL Bean for my rating of this product. I really just wanted to let others who might have pets that have mood changes triggered by smell to watch out.
I bought this mat in blue and had it personalized with both of my dogs names on it. It's fantastic! Very attractive, very sturdy, and soaks up the water from my very dribbly boston terriers. Someone earlier reviewed that the names were hard to see - not true. It looks very classy - to me of course - my dogs don't really notice...So glad I bought these!

Very pleased with this mat. It's durable and attractive. A bit disappointed that the red doesn't match the waterhog mat in the kitchen doorway which is true red-this had more of a maroon color to it which I didn't notice when I ordered the two of them. But it is portrayed in the picture here as it looks, so overall I'm very pleased.
I usually do not write reviews,but felt this product was noteworthy and deserved the praise. I purchased this to protect my new hardwood floors when filling the dog's water dish. It is a great size, waterproof and pretty obtrusive. I had a old dishtowel down under the dog bowl, but kept spilling the water when I went to place the bowl back on the floor and the towel literally did nothing to help keep the water from penetrating to the floor. This waterhog mat keeps the spill on top and if by chance gets any food on top of it you can shake it out or wipe it clean or rinse it off. It fit the bill and looks great. Thanks. Exceptional product!.
