I have two of these fabulous lunchboxes in my household. My daughters carry their lunches to school every day. LLBean is the only company that I've found to sell lunch boxes that have "flip-tops" and can be carried from the top or with a long cross-body strap. I place the kids' lunches inside, zip it shut and don't need to worry that the contents are going to get jumbled all together when they carry it. The other designs that are rectangle or square with a handle on one end inevitably is going to cause the contents to settle in the bottom. Not pretty when the sandwhich is under the juice box and the apple! Now, the kids may toss the lunch box around as it is transported in a backpack, but at least this lunchbox has a better design which decreases the possibility of a gravity-induced squashed school lunch. My husband and I ordered this lunch box to hold our daughter's baby bottles, and it works wonderfully for that purpose. We can fit a large ice pack, several 8 oz. bottles with lids, as well as food packets, and everything always stays cold. The lunch box fits nicely in the compartment on the bottom of our stroller, so it is great for family outings. We have the lunchbox in the Pink Lilac Dot pattern, and it coordinates very well with the pink L.L. Bean Junior Original Bookpack, which we use to carry toys, books, etc. These two items are our must-haves whenever we leave the house.
My son is now in 2nd grade and this is by far the best lunch box. It does not smell, I can wipe it out with a clorox wipe when things leak. It is big enough to put all his food containers and the flip top is great for snacks that break easily. I would recommend this to any parent. I will be buying another one for my daughter when she starts school!! I love LLBean!!
Love, love, LOVE this Flip Top Lunch Box! OK, so there are other lunchboxes on the market, and I've tried many. This, by far, is THE BEST! Now, why is that? Because of the handy domed lid, of course! It's perfect for a small water bottle, so you have more room for packing food for the whole day, not just lunch. Also, I'm a huge fan of mosaic tile items so when I saw the pattern (Brilliant Blue Mosaic) online, I had to get it. As usual, the color is true, so don't worry that it will be different than the picture. The handy mesh outer pocket is great for utensils, napkins or whatever. Comes with a shoulder strap too, if you need it. This product is a MUST HAVE!
