We own this lunchbox and the other flat lunch box. My two favorite things about them are 1. I am not sure this is recommended but, I wash them in the washing machine every once in a while. After some time in the lunch room, I think everything needs some hot, hot water :) 2. The Rubbermaid lunchbox kits fit perfectly in this one. I use the one with the sandwich, flat ice pack and two "sides" plus, add napkin and juice box. PERFECT! I have had this one for my daughter for 3 years and my son's for 5 and they look brand new. Plus, not baby-ish so they can use when they are little but, don't outgrow! Great, great product!!
I should have known it would be too small for me when I read the reviews with people talking about how great it is for their children. Be advised this is a small lunch bag - take the measurements and make sure you know what you're getting. This was on sale and I was able to use my $10 gift card from Christmas - and get it for free - so it's difficult to really complain about a free item - just make sure you know how small it really is before you buy it.
Both of my boys have been using this product for over 2 1/2 years now. I am only replacing them with a new LL Bean lunchbox because they are getting slightly worn and the boys would like something different at this time. I have washed them in the washer on gentle when they are super dirty and they are a dream to clean. They are large enough to fit all their lunch, and a snack for school. Plus I use the top part for the ice block. Just like their backpacks, these hold up great!
I have bought a few of these in the past for my kids. They are large and roomy, they fit nicely in the Bean backpacks and the colors are great. They could last for several years but I like to get a fresh one each year for the kids, even though these are still in great shape. The waterproof insides are terrific and easily washable for any spillage.
