my son is entering 6th grade this fall & has been carrying a flip top lunchbox since he started school. it's the perfect size for his lunch & a snack, along with an icepack. the first box we got was in kindergarten & by the end of the year the rubber piece across the top of the handle was coming off bit by bit. I attributed this to a 5 year old picking at it & purchased a new one. unfortunately, the exact same thing has happened again! that, along with the small "slits" in the liner that other folks also commented on are my only complaints. when needed, i throw the box in the washer & all is well. it truly is the only lunchbox my son likes! i'll be ordering a new one & hope the "faults" from the past two have been corrected.
A new lunch bag is not on my back to school list. Why?? Cause I bought one of these a few years back and it's still going. My daughter is 9 and she is starting year four on this lunch bag. I wash it when needed and let it air dry. My girl tends to be a little on the careless side, and I can't believe there isn't a tear in it. Break down the cost on a yearly basis...it's saved me money. Love love love this lunch bag.
This appeared to be a nice lunch bag, however, when it became dirty (outside and inside) it can't be washed in the washing machine. Washing it by hand wouldn't resolve the appearance (externally or internally). It doesn't keep school lunchs cold either. This could be a great product if the above-mentioned issues are resolved.
