First let me say I love this lunchbox. It's the perfect size and holds up very well. I bought one last year for my daughter who started Kindergarten and we'll use it again this year. It held her full lunch and snack with an ice pack. My only "complaint" if you will, is about the liner. I second the concerns of other users that it develops small cuts despite the fact we've only used plastic cutlery. Also, I feel like there is a little too much liner inside which creates folds in the corners which make it a little harder to clean. I understand that this makes it a bit more expandable, but maybe it could be refined? I also like the fact there are no seams in the liner. LLBean, you've nailed it with this lunchbox - you just need to fix the liner!! Thanks for making such quality products!
My son is in the 5th grade this year. I have just ordered our third lunchbox. It is perfect for his lunches. I can fit a sandwich container, some chips, a yogurt container and another bag of fruit in it. In the top of this lunchbox I can fit an 8oz. drink and a small icepack. I have had issues with small slits showing up on the interior lining but they have held up for years! I can wipe it down with Clorox wipes or soap and water with no problems. Best Lunchbox Ever!!!
Bought this two years ago for my grade-school granddaughter. It is a good size and has a generous design to accommodate box drinks and adult lunches. I was disappointed that the interior plastic lining began to show small slashes (like paper cuts) that only seemed to grow in number. We never put sharp utensils in the lunchbox, (only plastic spoons). The cuts did not alter the function but I could not help but worry that bacteria and moisture had seeped through the lining wall. Will be looking for a replacement this year.
My kids used their first lunch boxes for three years and now I'm buying them another as it just seems to be time though the lunch boxes are not yet finished with. My daughter used hers almost daily for three years and there is barely any wear to see. Perfect size for a sandwich, drink, chips, fruit and yogurt.
