The stated dimensions match a lunchbox I already have from LL Bean so I thought it would be similar. I carry a pasta bowl with me to mix up my daily salad. It simply could not fit in this one so I returned it.
I use this to pack my lunch daily. I keep an ice pack in the top part, and use the bottom for a bento style box. There's even room to the side of the bento box to put an apple or yogurt that wouldn't fit in. I don't use the strap. My lunch manages to stay cool all day sitting in my classroom, so the insulation seems to be working well.
After trying several other lunch boxes (including the critter and large ones from llbean) I bought this one for my son and it actually holds more food than he eats! I can fit his entire lunch, a drink and an icepack without squishing anything and it's made by llbean so I have no worries about quality (he had the critter box for 4 years and it still looks new), this really is the best lunch box available.
We are on year 2 and it still looks perfect after everyday use last year. My daughter didn't even ask if she was getting a new one because this one still looks new. Big enough for a sandwich, snack and water.
