ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected, must have
i have bought a book bag and a maching luch bag about 2 years ago my little girl is in kindergarten now and there is nothing wrong with it. i have twin boys and im planning on getting them the same. they will be going to head start this year. yahoooo.
I was surprised when the handle came off the bag. This was the second LL Bean lunch bag this year that the handle has come off. I have bought several LL Bean Lunch Bags and Back Packs in past years with great results and hold up over the school year and into the next. Wondering if they have cheapened the manufacturing process to save costs...
Overall the lunch box is durable after 6 months of everyday elementary school use.The lining is wearing well, the fabric is wearing well. We did not like the long strap because it was placed so low on the bag that it flipped over oddly. The webbing handle slipped out of the seam on the top and couldn't be repaired without tearing out the mesh in the upper compartment. Can't exchange it until June when more come in and we still have 3 months of school left.
We purchased 2 of these and both have stood up great. I am surprised by the number of reviews stating the handles have broke. I purchased 1 in Aug 2010 and 1 in June 2011. Both are taken daily to school for lunch by my boys who are tough on everything. The inside liner cleans up great. We took off the shoulder strap considering that is not something they need or would really allow in an elementary school. I have more than enough room to pack a lunch for a kid and am coming back to get another one for my husband.
