This is a nice lunch box for my son. It is very roomy. Downside, broken handle after one month. This is obviously is not a one time flaw considering the amount of other reviews with the same issue. I am exchanging this box for another one in hopes the flaw has already been corrected.
we love this lunch box, but with one MAJOR flaw. it's roomy enough for odd shaped lunch items- and as vegetarians who don't rely on sandwiches as lunch staples, this is AWESOME!!! the curved top is so much more useful than just for holding a beverage. sometimes it positions a freezy on top of the item i need kept cold while a warm item sits to the side. it can also suspend a piece of fruit you want to avoid bruising- or even a hard boiled egg from being crushed!! HOWEVER- the handle is the flaw. i bought two for back to school 2011, and within weeks the handles detached. i don't believe either child man-handled this lunch box- they keep them within their backpacks. i like the boxes enough to keep them, but am disappointed that we must rely on the shoulder straps from now on- they are mounted n such a way that the box tends to flip upside down when the shoulder strap is utilized. please, l.l. bean- fix this problem- it can't be hard!!
The size and shape are fine but after only one week of use the top handle broke so you have to carry it with both hands. It's a young girl's lunch box so not someone who would swing it around or be rough with it. Hopefully it was just a fluke that mine was a lemon.
