I bought pink and sky blue for my daughters. They take lunch to school daily and the Flip-Top lunch boxes are fantastic. The main area fits an ice pack, and a reusable container with 3 compartments - the large one for a sandwich, and 2 smaller ones for salad and cookies or fruit - with room to spare. The upper flap holds a 12oz water bottle and small yogurt. This is sturdy, soft and keeps food cold. So cold the girls need to microwave their sandwiches at school because they are really cold by lunchtime. Wipes clean. Will purchase more for myself and hubby for our lunch. Great colors too.
Putting a container with liquid in a horizontal position is a terrible idea. When my daughter does not finish her milk & doesn't close the Kleen Kanteen completely, everything gets wet & smelly. Handwashing did not get rid of the smell.
I bought one of these lunch boxes for my 6 yr old daughter last year, and she will be using it again this year. I also just purchased one for my 5 yr old son to use this year. These are the best lunch boxes. They are durable and compact yet very roomy inside. My children take lunch every day to school. I am able to pack their sandwich (which I put in a reusable container), yogurt, spoon, juice box, fruit, chips, a cookie, and an ice pack in the lower part. I can also fit a thermos with a second drink in the top. My daughter's lunch box became smelly from food that spilled so I washed it on delicate cycle, and it came out great! I will definitely purchase another for her once this one wears out!
We have been in school for 1 1/2 months and today I noticed that the waterproof lining was cracked. We haven't had any sharp edges in the lunch box. I was happy, but now, not so much. I am assuming it will just fall apart more now.
