ProsPerforming as Expected, good design, good size
I went back and forth between purchasing this lunch box and the smaller one, and I am so glad I bought this one. My 5 year old has to bring 2 small snacks and a cloth napkin in addition to his lunch, and I don't think the smaller one would have worked at all. This one fits everything perfectly and I can fit reusable containers without anything getting squished. I know he will be able to use this for a long time, which makes the cost worth it as well.
This flip-top lunch box is fantastic! The dimensions are perfect for laying a sandwich on it's back...not on the side. Additionally, the separate compartment for our son's drink and/or ice pack on the top of the lunch box is excellent. There is room in the top compartment for both a Capri Sun/drink box AND a small ice pack! Which is excellent for keeping the drink and lunch cold. We love this lunch box, and you will too!!
We purchased this for the start of kindergarten last year. I purchased it based on some reviews I had seen in a magazine--this lunchbox kept items cooler for longer periods of time than other ones in a test. It not only keeps his food cold, but is extremely durable. No rips, tears, etc. after a year of regular use. We intend to use it for another year!
ProsDurable, Great Value, performs better than expected
Since my kids started school, I've always purchased LL BEAN backpacks and lunch boxes. They are the best quality; my kids are tough on their packs and they look practically brand new! My daughter carried her first one for 5 years, her 2nd one for 2 years (she is getting a bigger one this year b/c she has so many books). I know if I should ever have any problems, LLBEAN stands behind their products. These are the best on the market, period!
