This isn't my first LL Bean lunch box. I purchased this one to provide more room for larger items (salads, soups,beverages etc.). After a few weeks use, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I have used it for cold ad hot foods.
I couldn't find anything comparable to this lunchbox available locally, and this product is perfect for us. The roominess of the lunch area is great -- you can even safely pack a banana lying it on top of other things. We have already had several spills and it is very easy to clean - because there are no seams, there is no chance that the insulation area gets wet. The strap is the best part - it can be slung across the shoulders, or carried by the handle on top. A first-rate lunchbox!
I was tired of replacing broken lunch bags, so since I was already buying back packs, I figured I would try the lunch bags. I really like the size and shape and it is definately a better quality than anything I have seen in a store. Time will tell how long it lasts.
My son and I like to take foods for our lunches that require containers. He also still likes to take milk in a thermos. I have used the regular super lunch boxes for years for both sons. This flip top one allows his thermos to go in the upper area and still allow alot of room for containers. He really likes the shoulder strap also because he needs to take books with him to lunch for his next two classes. The strap allows him to have his hands available. I'm using his old super lunch box. LLBean makes a great product.
