It is very roomy and lightweight. Holds everything I need, including my laptop. The wide, padded strap stays on my shoulder and there is a pocket for everything I carry. Best bag I've purchased, and I've had many! This is the last bag I'll ever need.
One of my kids was tired of the traditional backpack. This was a great solution to that problem. Lots of interior room with a nice wide shoulder strap. Wonderful L.L. Bean quality as well.
My son who is going into 6th grade picked this bag out because he doesn't like the weight of a full backpack. This messenger bag arrived with plenty of room and lots of compartments to put things like keys, pencils & pens and gym locks! the best part is the cushioned strap that adjusts properly. After seeing the amount of books and notebooks my son was going to be carrying, I almost wish I had gotten the larger model! Even with a fully loaded bag, my son said it was comfortable to carry because the strap was so comfortable. The bag even has a rubber handle on the back to make toting by hand even easier. I'm looking forward to this bag holding up to a full school year of punishment!
