Got this bag for my 9 year old grandson and it holds all his school essentials. Although this is a good sized bag it is not too big and he really likes it. I wouldn't mind having one for myself.
I was looking for a bag I could carry my camera and iPad in. This bag (small) has just enough room for those items. I also enjoy the various pockets in it.
The main compartment has a latch that takes some getting use to. Aside from that, I highly recommend it. It's construction is sturdy like all of LL Bean's other bags.
We received our grand daughter's birthday messenger bag in a timely fashion.The quality was excellant especially the stitching. Our grand daughter was quite taken with her new school bag and was very happy with her birthday gift.
I bought the large bag for my high school aged son and the medium for my grade school aged son last year, both are still going strong for the start of this school year. Both boys also find them easier to use and carry than backpacks.
I would however love to see a small size as I have a 4 year old that would also like one, but the medium is just to big for him. There also seems to be no one else making a smaller size so LLBeans would certainly fill a hole. For now he had to go to the small LLBean backpack.
