I purchased the large size bag to put in my laptop and a few text books. The bag certainly had plenty of storage room. However, I didn't care for the clasp and I also found that the shoulder strap was not as adjustable as I needed. I found the strap to be too long. I ended up returning the bag. I would have kept the bag if the strap had more adjustability.
We ordered this bag in the medium size for our Africa trip. I cannot begin to complement LL Bean on the construction, colors, etc. This bag traveled on two separate safari trips, through 4 African countries on small planes, plus regular airline travel and personal business travel. It has maintained it's quality and usefullnes throughout. I am now ordering the larger size for our use. Do not doubt how pleased you will be with this purchase.
I love the bag the medium is perfect size i can fit all of my college books and a nalgene water bottle in it.
The shoulder strap is very comfortable....what other reviewers complained about is true......the cell phone pocked is kind of tight.....you have to shove the cell phone in it.......but then you know it wont fall out.. i don't really care for the front clip and the bag handle is awkward...other wise i love the water proof material, the size all of the pockets, and how it looks........great bag for the price.........
