I've had some iteration of this bag for about 7 years now. I'm a teacher and loved it for carting around papers. I'm also barely 5'2" and have learned that the large size is just too big for me.
Great bag, super roomy, but at my short height, it got too heavy too fast.
I have the medium now and love it...and if I have too much stuff to fit into it, I switch over to a backpack. Healthier for my shoulders at this point!
I bought this for my 8 year old son to replace his back pack. I purchased the smaller of the two sizes but was afraid it was going to be too small to fit all of his belongings. Even though the cubic inches are small compared to a back pack, all of his school supplies as well as lunch and a toy or two fit and stay more organized than they did in his back pack. My only negative it that the strap is a little long. It bothers me but does not bother him...he really likes everything about it.
My son adores this bag and carries it with pride. It is so much better than a backpack because it can be switched from side to side for more comfort. It carries all of his school books and supplies easily. It has enough pockets and places to store stuff. The only criticism is it should have a few more larger pockets.
This is a great bag that was supposed to replace my well worn LL Bean bag that I've had for many a year. Unfortunately they have it just in the medium and large size. That was too big for me. If they had a small I would have kept it. Oh well.
