perfect for our emergency kit,
February 19, 2010
By
Shahanfrom Mt. Shasta, CA
"This radio is a great addition to our emergency kit. We are amazed at how good the sound quality is. We really appreciate that it can be charged by solar or cranking, has a very bright light, and can also charge a cell phone. The small size means it can be tossed in a purse or a day pack—a tiny space-taker that fulfills many functions. Thanks!"

A radio that fills a need,
November 11, 2009
By
Survivorgirlfrom Wappingers Falls, NY
"I've been putting together a "go bag" - an emergency pack - and wanted to either get this radio or the $50 one, but picked this one for the size. I'm really impressed with the sound I got out of it as well as the reception- the weather station came in loud and clear, for example. And I love the fact that I don't have to worry about constantly feeding it batteries; I can just crank it up or let it soak up the sun and go. As for using the flashlight, it's about as bright as any flashlight I ever had and the radio fits well in the palm of my hand for that. Couldn't be happier with this!"

Solar Dynamo Radio Light,
March 6, 2010
By
Anonymousfrom Langhorne, PA
"This has been a record setting winter in the Philadelphia suburbs and we were inconveninced by a lengthy power outage. As soon as the electricity and phone were back in service, we ordered the multipurpose Solar Dynamo Radio Light for ourselves and for our daughters and their families, who live far from us in areas with harsh winters. We love the radio's petite size and the fact that when charging by solar power is not possible we can power the flashlight and radio by cranking the handle. A great item!"

"I bought this as insurance against the electric going out in these Ohio winters. I wanted a flashlight and radio that worked no matter what. I set it in the window during the day to charge and know I can always wind it if needed in the dark. The light is very bright and its compact size will be great for travel."

Solar Dynamo Radio Light,
February 25, 2010
By
nannyoftwofrom Medford, Mass.
"A true find for me and my husband as well.....purchased 2........ Use mine in the car everyday while I work at my job so I can listen to the radio without keeping the engine on..........haven't had to wind it up yet because the light always comes through the car windows keeping it charged.... Truly compact and simple to use plus has a flashlight........ Best feature is never having to replace batteries anymore...........plus the expense of them........would highly recommend this great sounding radio..."

5 Bear Paws *****,
February 8, 2010
By
Vintage48from Valley Forge, PA
"This handy dandy radio gets 5 Bear Paws UP!
This was a Christmas gift to my brother out in Big Bear, California. Not only do they get earthquakes, mud slides and fires they have also been on the receiving end of blizzards and have had power outages due to heavy snows. What better place to test out a compact radio that does not have to rely on electricity?
My brother and his wife report that not only does this little gem have great sound quality, it actually pulled in an AM station in a local valley they can't ordinarily receive with their other radio. My brother used the built in light to find the woodpile to feed the fire that was illuminating their living room during a recent power outage!
One improvement would be to have a built in CD/tape player in it.
All in all, they report that they love the little radio. I'm pleased to have finally found a Christmas gift that people will actually use.
At this great price, I'll get more for the other members of my family for upcoming birthdays.
Thanks for the good quality product, LL Bean and for the speedy delivery to California."

Small but powerful!,
February 3, 2010
By
Leanne860from Erie, PA
"MUCH smaller than I thought it would be but once I got over the shock I tried it out and it's amazingly powerful. (the small size makes it much more convenient!) It holds it's charge forever and when it needs recharged, my grandson runs to grab it so he can crank it up. The flashlight is also pretty bright. My daughter has threatened to steal it for the beach. It would be perfect because the solar panel would keep it running all day long! I think it's gonna be a great Valentines or Easter gift for her and her brother. (I'm thinking in the event of emergencies, not the beach...Lol) Also very sturdy. My grandson has dropped it numerous times with no effect whatsoever. Highly recommended."

solar dynamo radio light,
February 3, 2010
By
trivianutfrom Indianapolis IN
"Living in the midwest, tornadoes are common, usually in the springtime. I did not have a weather stations, and this has several weather channels, plus the AM/FM capability. The fact that it can use solar power or the windup method is a plus because often power goes off in bad storms. A light on the front is a benefit in power outages too."
