this is a great product. we live in an area where there are frequent electriacl outages. this product solves many of our problems. fist we can keep in touch with the community news via the hand-cranked radio and also charge our cell phone as needed.

Eton has changed their solar radio somewhat. I've ordered 5 or 6 of these in the past as gifts. What's different is that the old ones included a card to order a free adapter to connect your cell phone to the radio. The new one didn't have the card in it. That's a step down in quality.
Seems like a good product so far -- and hopefully it will be of use during our next earthquake!! But will wait to see how it holds up, given others' comments. Main complaint is the skimpy instructions. I called Eton (the manufacturer) for help, and was told that they are rewriting the booklet. And also that they'd send me a free cell phone adapter tip and cord once I registered the product.
