I have this radio and love it. Works great and has very nice sound. The flashlight is also very bright. I am purchasing another for my brother. I also bought one for my grandaughter. She is very pleased with this radio.
The first time I used this radio it worked great. I have gone to use it again but the volume is so low that you need to hold the radio to your ear (even when turned up all the way) then the radio dies with in minutes as if the battery has no more power in it but the flashlight still works. (??). The radio transmission is still very clear. I placed the radio on a sunny window sill in my kitchen for several days wondering if it just needed a really long charge- no luck. I loved the idea of this solar radio & it worked awesome the first time I used it but I'm not liking it so much now.
The first one only worked when in sunlight and lost its charge quickly with the crank charge...after an exchange, the second one is dead as a doornail...nothing can revivie it ! severe defect -- not ll bean's fault but the manufacturer...
