It is a nice sized radio not bulky or heavy, and has everything you will need if there ever is an emergency. I placed the radio in semi sunlight straight out of the box for about 5 min, or less; gave it 3 cranks and it was powered enough to get clear reception and high volume. 5 stars if it was waterproof but, definitely a DO.
I just read the first 10 reviews and am surprised we're talking about the same product. It's light, it's cute BUT it only works for about HALF AN HOUR before you have to crank it for 2 minutes. Then it works for half and hour and you have to crank it again. This is not what it says in the instructions - think it says something like 'up to 8 hours on a solar charge or a 90 second crank.' Nope. Stops dead in 30 minutes. Sometimes less. And it doesn't even wind down - just stops dead suddenly. Other folks aren't experiencing this? I'd love to find out that I've misunderstood something or that I'm doing something wrong - I'd LOVE to be happy with this product but right now, not at all.
Got yhis for mom-in-law. It was a bit smaller than I expected. But..., it works well. She and I like the solar cell charger, as she is in poor health. The weather radio works good, and the FM works good. The flashlight is a bit weak, but that is to be expected in a low cost item. It is worth the money.
Product arrived and performed as advertised. No problems. All functions of the product worked as they were supposed to. Great reception. Bought it in preparation of the upcoming hurricane season. L.L. Bean shipping and communication concerning the purchase was superb.
