So I have to admit that I haven't taken it on a camping trip since I just got it a couple weeks ago, but it worked so well that I was using it in the house just for fun. I was amazed by the clear reception on the radio and love the thought of no batteries, ever!
Love this item. Small but that makes it even better. Easy to pack. We used it recently at at cookout. Played for over 5 hours with no trouble at all. My friends were impressed with it. I would recommend this to anyone.

I bought this for a camping trip, and it was useful, since I was able to get weather reports in a wilderness area that helped me bring the right stuff in my pack. The crank gave me plenty of power. Now at home, I have it where I can locate it quickly in case one of those severe midwestern thunderstorms hits and we lose power just as the tv starts squawking for a tornado watch.
