I was not informed of limitations - length of listening - so was not satisfied with radio. This was not your fault, I just was not familiar with solar radios. I had ordered a red transistor radio sometime ago and was thinking this one was the same. So returned solar radio.
Just used it during a tornado warning, while waiting it in the basement. Easy use and exactly as written. Light strong, radio clear, just cranked it up for a few rotations.
Only had this about a month. Great little radio. Perfect for listening to baseball games when you are on the trail and small enough to fit in your pocket for those boring meetings. (earbuds not included). My step-dad is jealous and will be gettting one for his up-coming birthday. Crank it for a minute and half and you are good to go for hours and hours. Or leave it in a sunny widnow sill and never crank it at all! No batteries needed! I use it just about every day.
We bought a crank radio for Y2K and it was large and heavy. It croaked. After the recent tsunami scare here in Oregon, we thought we needed to buy a new crank radio that also gets the weather radio stations for our emergency kit. This little radio is perfect and gets great reception. It's even better than I expected.
