I just had to use my radio for weather coverage during a serious storm/tornado alert. I had made sure that it was sun charged and ready. No problem at all. Just as a precaution, after about 15 minutes, I did turn the crank a bit, though neither the radio nor the light gave an indication of a power loss.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected, added flashlight is, a great feature.
Instructions for releasing the crank was nowhere to be seen, I had to call Customer Service. The technician was very pleasant and his instructions were good, I used a plastic credit card to release the crank.
I first got this for my husband. After using may times at home during tornado warnings and taking it on trips, I knew this would be a great gift for family members. My father takes it with him fishing so he'll know if it's a surprise rain shower or time to go. My aunt lives where they have a community storm house and uses it to know if it is clear to leave and there are no street lights so she knows her flashlight will always work. The fifth I got I gave to my daughter when she moved out. We all like our little flashlight radios in a big way.
