I haven't really needed this light/radio yet....I bought it for times when we lose power, or for RV'ing......but it seems to take a charge easily and be powerful. I'm impressed and happy with the purchase!
I purchased this item because I thought it would be an interesting novelty item. Firstly, I was amazed at the sturdiness and overall quality of the build of it. It's solid with tight-fitting seams and all the movable parts have just enough resistance allowing for fine-tuning their adjustments.
Secondly, the number of radio stations, both AM and FM, that I'm able to find is nothing short of a miracle given the compact size of the unit.
The weather band comes in crystal-clear, the flashlight is bright and lights a fairly wide path. However, you must hold down on the button for illumination as it does not toggle on/off. That is a feature I would add if I had my way.
I ran my smart phone battery completely down until the phone turned itself off. I hooked it to the USB port and cranked on the handle for about 30 minutes while I watch the mighty Packers beat up on the Bears. I turned the phone on and it gave me half a charge. Very surprising.
Though I don't expect this device to one day save my life or help me survive the wild--it absolutely could and would do both of those things if need be.
One of these or something similar in every vehicle I say.

I purchased a Radio/Light for each of my grown children and their spouses as a Christmas gift. It was a big hit! They were impressed with the clarity of the radio, the brightness of the LED light, and ability to charge their cell phones with it. I was so impressed with the quality that I ordered one for my husband and one for me. We're keeping them in our cars in case of emergency; but these are perfect for home use and camping. Excellent product.
This solar dynamo radio is the cutest little thing. I was expecting something bigger, but honestly, its perfect. The crank on the side works great. The reception is great. I was looking for a radio/flashlight for emergencies and I found a perfect match.
