I bought a burnt orange one for my son at the University of TX. Great gift for college kids, they can charge their cell phones, has the NOAA capabilities and is solar, crank powered.
This little light radio is great and lightweight. I used it for a bike camping trip and it performed well. The light lasts quite a long time without the need for charging and the radio seemed to get good reception. I like not having to buy batteries for it.
My husband loves mechanical things and he is a safety nut....so this was the perfect gift. He loves it! Now he listens every night to the weather station. What a handy piece of equipment to keep on hand.
I ordered two radios as I live in earthquake country. The radio played immediately and I found its small size perfect for my hand; easy to crank, store, find because of the bright colors and the light feature is extra. The UCP port will require an adapter for my cell phone inconvient but durable. IMC
