I purchased this item a few years ago as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. It is awesome! We bring it hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and to the beach! It is so easily packable, durable, and works in any weather conditions we have put it through so far!
The best part is no batteries - the crank and solar function are so fantastic to have. The radio gets great reception and the sound is incredibly good. The emergency weather information, which is pretty accurate - was great for the monsoon of rain we experienced this summer on our camping trip in Maine. The version we have also has a universal cell phone charge area, but have not used that part yet.
All in all, this is a great product for anyone who is out and about in the wilderness at any given time!
This is a well built, easy to use weather alert radio that doubles as a light and cell phone charger for those times when commercial power is not available and you must stay in touch. This radio is exactly as advertised and a real bargain for the price.
