Remember transistor radios? Well, that's what this sounds like, although the reception is otherwise good and the weather band comes in well. Very cute, and just the right size for slipping into a backpack pocket. Don't think the sound is good enough for an impromptu dance 'round the campfire, but it'll do for keeping informed when out in the wilderness or getting ready for a storm.
Our power goes out too often, and now we have this great, easy-to-use radio and flashlight, together in a compact unit. I've sent several as gifts and everyone is very appreciative.
