Bought one for my husband and we love it. Nice flash light, great little radio and the weather stations came in very handy when tornados were in the area. Bought another to keep in our camper and one as a house warming gift.
I bought this to use in an emergency, and I haven't had one yet. When I turned it on, the radio started right up. (Did they pre-wind it for me?) Reception seemed good. I tried all the buttons (light, etc.) and they were easy to find and use. It also has a port for a cell-phone charger, a nice extra I hadn't counted on. Winding is easy. I highly recommend it.
I've already had occasion to use this radio. The day after I received it the weather knocked the electricity out and it came in really handy. It's very sturdy and the reception is quite clear on many AM and FM stations - and of course the weather station. Have not used it as a cell phone charger, so can't vouch for that efficiency.
I purchased this after my family survived a tornado. My daughter-in- law lost phone contact w/my son who was in the middle of the tornado. She had no electricity & no phone; needless to say w/4 small children she was a bit stressed. Hopefully she will never need it for the same situation but it is a necessary item in an emergency!
