This is a wonderful product. Bought for my daughter's 10th birthday. She has used almost daily was easy to use, picks up stations well, lightweight for her to carry, and will be great to take on all camping trips or just out for the day swimming or a friends house.
I was so pleased with this product that I am purchasing more as gifts for Christmas, I know, it's only June, but I have to have MORE!! Picks up AM/FM and NOAA with great reception (I live in Tornado Alley). The flashlight is terrific, no batteries to buy anymore. It has a wrist strap so you can't drop it, the radio's case is made of a material that gives you a firm grasp, it doesn't slip, as a matter of fact; the red is the same color and texture as my cell phone.
We received this a a gift and I must say it is one of the best gifts. It workes great from the light to the emergency weather. I can't tell you how many times we haved used the emergency weather part at it has been a blessing. I would recommend everyoe has one with them. I love that it is solor or crank NO BATTERIES.
This is a product you'll use more often than you can imagine. Using the crank or solar panel, you'll get "real time" weather alert information and an amazing light source.
It's tornado season and I live in Tornado Alley. Local radio and television stations never seem to give timely or accurate information. Even the Weather Channel will not interrupt programming to give the kind of information you need to protect you and your family. When the sky is green, you need information and you need it now!
My radio is with me at all times. It's compact enough to fit in most purses and ergonomically shaped for easy handling. I choose my local weather alert channel, adjust the volume and antennae, and I'm instantly updated. I've used it in stores, on the sidewalk, and in my school (I'm a teacher.). I can't tell you how many people have gathered around to hear "what is going on".
I have gotten so many compliments, I've purchase one for each on my family members. I have at least five friends who have ordered an L.L. Bean catalog, so they can place their order.
