If you have a wide foot and a high instep these shoes are not for you. I needed a shoe horn to get them on. When I did get them on the tongue of the shoe dug into my ankle. It was also very tight all along the whole top of my foot, plus all around my ankle. Another size would not have helped as I had plenty of toe room.
I have been wearing LL Bean Mocs for about 3 to 4 years, I have 7 pairs. I'm a diabetic and my feet are very sensitive, plus my back prevents me from bending over to tie shoes, these slip ons are a God send, I love them and wear nothing else.
These shoes are the absolute best on the market, and I have tried them all. I have had to have eight operations on my feet and cannot wear hard-soled dress shoes. These mocs allow me to do all of my regular daily activities without foot pain. And an added benefit...the last practically forever.
