The comfort mocs have been nothing but a headache since I received them as a gift. The problem I had was with the elastic at the tongue of the shoe. Once the elastic stretches out, the shoe is ruined. It no longer fits snug and the heel begins to slip off. Once the heel begins to slip, the heel wears out and the plastic inside cuts. On top of that, I find my stride changes when I wear these shoes to prevent the back from slipping off and stepping on the back of them. The change in my stride gives me constant shin splints when I wear them for extended periods of time. I have returned these to L.L. Bean numerous times. The customer service is great, but this is just not a good product. If you do choose to buy these shoes, get them at least one size smaller so when the elastic stretches they still fit.
I bought these shoes back in 2005 in the brown/chocolate color! They have been the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn! The bottom has finally started to crack after 8 years of everyday wear and Ohio winters. If you have any doubt just try them, you will thank yourself later !
My son just had a growth spurt and jumped into men's sizes. So he uses these shoes for school concerts and unexpectedly he's been using them to play outside on the frozen ground here in New England. They are so durable and better then what I've been seeing elsewhere, for the same style. He is really tough on them, so it was definitely a worthwhile purchase.
