I am only 5"1"and have a very short waist. Therefore, these shorts hang at my waist instead of just below. Due to my short, compact stature, I need a lower rise. Plus, I found the waist a little tight. My waist is about 28 inches, and at size 10, these shorts feel fine in the morning. However, at night, after 3 meals, my stomach expands, so the waist gets a little tight. Still, they fit and seem like a great value, so I decided to keep them.
I love LL Bean! I usually get their fleece jackets and trekker sandals but thought I'd give their shorts a try. I am standard size 8. I ordered these shorts in size 6 and size 8 and should've gone for a size 10 or maybe even a 12. I couldn't even the size 8 buttoned without sucking in my stomach : (. Thank god for free shipping on returns.
This is my first time ordering bottoms from LLBean. I am a size 10 in most brands but these shorts would not close. I think they would have been great but would suggest ordering a size up.
