I really liked the feel of the fabric, the wrinkle resistant feature and khaki color, but had to return them I read reviews that said they ran small, so I ordered them. Mine were huge in a size 4. I can't usually wear LL Bean pants, was hoping these really were small.
These shorts are exactly what I was looking for in terms of length, fit and style. The waist is not too high, not too low, just right. The one thing to be aware of is that they are sized on the small side, so I recommend ordering one size up from your normal size. I am normally a pretty true size 10, and I had to send them back and get the 12, which fit perfectly. Overall, very happy with these shorts.
I've always worn an LL Bean size 12 in pants. The description says "slightly fitted through the hips and thighs". That's an understatement. While these fit perfectly through the waist, they were way too tight across my backside. And no sense ordering up a size, since then the waist would be too big. Oh well. It's a very nice fabric and a perfect length.
I, too, am disappointed in the changes LLBean has made to these shorts. My old pair fit beautifully; the new pair just seems awkward--a little tight across the rear, a little big at the waist, and pockets that stick out no matter what I do. Please get out your old patterns and make these shorts the way you used to!
