I have a pair of bayside pants that sit at the waist and love them. So when I saw the new shorts that sit at the waist I wanted to give them a try. I really appreciate LLBean getting up to date with this waistline!! I ordered the same size as usual, and to my dismay they were to small. So I returned and went a size bigger. They are a bit big, but a few washings are helping. So my overall comment is that the sizing is not the same as the pants.
I bought these for my adult daughter. She loved them. They look very nice on her. She has had them in the past. Her old ones have lasted 4 years and still look good. Pricey but worth it.
Bayside shorts have always been a favorite....but this new style is horrible. My normal size doesn't fit, I have to go to a size 16? Forget it. The style has changed and doesn't fit well at all. You no longer have that wonderful poly/cotten blend. Why did you have to change a popular classic? Bring the old ones back....please!
The shorts are still well made, and the fabric is nice, but the sizing is way off. I have bought these for years in the same size and have them in my closet. The ones I recently ordered have been sent back. In-seam is short. They do NOT sit at the waist--which, for me is the narrowest part of my central body--not on the hips.
They don't fit, and, indeed, no size will fit me. I have not planning to order these again.
