I too read the reviews and took "for gospel" the reports that they were huge and ran 1/2 size large and I ordered a 7-1/2 vs a size 8 which is my normal size. When I opened the box, I thought "no wonder these simple flats were so pricey." The quality was absolutely worth the price and the stylish lines of this shoe are exquisite. Unfortunately, the 7-1/2 was too small for my size 8 foot so I ordered another pair and am sending these 7-1/2 babies back. Now I have to wait AGAIN for this shoe, and this wait will be harder since I've seen then and know how lovely they are. I might order a 2nd pair--so lovely are these shoes.
I was nervous about buying these, though I'd loved them at first sight, because of all the size issues people seemed to be having. I bought my normal size, 9 and they're perfect. I consider my feet to be somewhat wide (they're not narrow anyway) but that too was not a problem. If your feet are truly wide, I can see how this shoe could be an issue because they have a very low profile. Also, if you have extra long toes, you might have a problem because of the same issue (unless you like toe cleavage.) I got the gold and it will go with everything. I'm thinking of getting the red now.
These went back due to size, though the color and construction were excellent. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 to 8, closer to 8 (or 38-39 European). Ordered these in a 7 1/2 and they were absolutely gigantic--like they run a half-size to full size larger than marked. Didn't want to risk more shipping charges on another poor fit. Too bad! Color was really great.
