Bought this for myself, but it is a skinnier fit in the waist, so I gave it to my Mom. She is an active 74 year-old and loves the pockets, the hood style, and the fact that she can throw it behind her in the car and doesn't have to worry about it wrinkling-- It keeps out rain and she has been able to travel with it and it still looks good out of the suitcase... As a 42 year old, size 14, it didn't work for me, because I usually wear something thick under that kind of coat because I like to fish!! No matter, I have the LL Bean raincoat that works!
I bought this sight unseen to replace my trail model raincoat that I bought a few years ago. loved the idea of the pit zips which the trail model does not have. Hated the feel of the fabric on my bare skin and it was really really stiff. It felt okay with a layer on though. also found it was too short for me and I repeatedly checked to see if I had maybe ordered a petite by accident. I am 5'7 and the jacket sat at the top of my jeans and the arms were a bit short. My friend who is 5'2 was in the market for a new raincoat and she ended up liking it as it fit her very well in the arms and the length. Not a bad raincoat. wish i liked it, but I think i'll stick with the trail model.
I received this jacket today in a S-Reg. I usually wear an XS Pet. Tight and short in length. I'm 5'2" , 102lbs. & this barely covered my hips. Thin, stiff, plastic like material. Not worth $99.00; maybe 30.00? This is going back. I ordered 2 GoreTex jackets on sale in Spring Sale insert tonight to take it's place. I'd rather add a little more $ and get better quality. Not the usual L L Bean quality.
